Uniview Cameras & NVR Default Username and Password
If you’re logging into a Uniview NVR or camera for the first time, you’ll need to enter the default username and password. The default login credentials for new Uniview devices are as follows:
- Username – admin
- Password – 123456
After logging into the device, you will be asked to enter a new password. This used to be optional but became a requirement on newer firmware versions sometime in 2021.
Uniview Password Requirements
You must create a new password for your NVR or camera after logging into it for the first time. Not only do you need to come up with a password, but it must follow these specific requirements:
- 9 to 32 characters
- At least one number, letter, and special character such as ! or $
You can also add your email address to the device. If you forget your password in the future, you can send a reset code to your email address so you can easily reset the password.
How to Reset the Password a Uniview Camera or NVR
There are three ways to reset the password on your Uniview device – but only two of the methods work on the NVR.
- Push the reset button on your camera for 15 seconds, within 10 minutes of powering on the device (only supported models)
- Use the EZView or UNV-Link app to send a reset code to your email address
- Contact your local Uniview Distributor for technical support (they can send a reset code)

Default Password of Hikvision Camera After Adding to UNV NVR
When you plug a new Hikvision camera into the back of a Uniview NVR, the camera may end up with a different password than the default. If this happens, you may find yourself locked out of the Hikvision camera.
If you find yourself unable to login to your Hikvision camera after adding it to a UNV NVR, please try one of the passwords below:
- Admin123
- Uniview666
- Ipc123456
The Uniview NVR may have set a password on the Hikvision camera in order for it to work via Plug & Play. Try one of the passwords above and you should be able to log into the camera.
